Te Reo Maori

Hello everyone,
Here are some Maori words that can come from your living room or lounge. There are some words like couch and the coffee table and curtains.

Hopa - Couch
Tepu kawhe - Coffee table
Arai - Curtains                 
Rama - Lamp
Whariki - Mat/Rug
Pouaka whakaata - Television/T.V
Whairehe - Stereo/ Sound system
Mihini whakemahana - Heater/ Heat pump
Whakaahua - Pictures/ Photos

And here are some sentences used some of the words from top,

1. Kei te matakitaki ahou i te pouka whakaata = I am watching the television/ T.V.

2.Kei te whakarongo ahou i te waiehe = I am listening to the stereo/ sound system.

3. Whakakangia te rama = Turn on the lamp.

  1. Ka pai Mahrosh. Thanks for teaching me some Te Reo Maori. I'm trying to learn as much as I can in lockdown. Yesterday I learnt kawe rongno means headphones and pūhihiko means charger. How did you find out these words? Have you ever used Google Translate?

      I did this blog post for a task since we did not have our Te Reo Maori books. I have never used google translate, but that does sound like a good idea.
