SLJ: Camping Site

 Hello,

Today's task is called: Camping site. This was a pretty hard task, but I did it. The task was to be like your owning a new paddock, and your turning it into a campsite. We had to colour the sites into equal sites, and then there was a maths question, which we had to work out on a Jam Board. I have put the Jam Board thing on the slides, so you can have a look at what I have done.

Here is my slides:

I don't really know what Thursday's other activity is, but if it comes, I'll do it!

SLJ: Summer Tastes & Tama-nui-te-ra

 Hello Everyone,

Wednesday's task, which is today's one is Summer Tastes and Tama-nui-te-ra. The second one was hard, because it was written in maori and I had to put the words into google translate to do it. The Summer tastes one was about making a collage about food that we like to eat in the summer. We had to choose 3 foods, then put them on a collage.

Here is my collage:

I have 3 foods, and I have used adjectives to describe them.

The second actvity was Tama-nui-te-ra. It mean big boy of the sun. The task was to create a picture on Word Art . Word art is an app, where you can create art by words.

Here is mine:

I just used 3 words:
I am me.

I thought that this sentence would be great, because, it's true! I am me!
That is all for now =)

SLJ: Ultraviolet drawing

 Hello,

Today, we had to make a drawing that includes our home, and an ultraviolet indicator. We had to make our home, then make it like a ultraviolet home. I don't really know how to explain this, but,

Here it is:

One is the highest. 11 is the lowest. That is all.

SLJ: Building a Super Column & It's cool to be kind (Bot KS)

 Hello,

Monday's Nanogirl activity was: Building a Super Column. Our one that we had to make was when we had to find some stuff to hold up some rocks and stuff. I got:

* 2 cardboard pieces

* Scissors

*Rocks

* 2 spray bottles

I put one of the cardboard pieces underneath, and then put the spray bottles on top of it. Then, I put the last cardboard piece on top of the spray bottles, then I made a screen castify of me putting the rocks on top of my column.

Here is my recording.

What I have learnt is that compressive strength is a kind of strength.

 Example:

A wall needs to be strong to hold up the roof, so that's how walls can use compressive strength.

Monday's second task was an activity called: It's cool to be kind.

This activity was when we had to find someone who had commented on our blog and also a nice one. Then, we had to give a kind reply, but first practice it on the Google drawing. We had to screen shot what we had written, and whet they had written.

Here is my google drawing:

That was what I was meant to say. Today's one is coming.

SLJ: 3D Paper

 Hello,

Friday's task wasn't supposed to be this late, but it's the best I can do. Today's and yesterday's will come straight after. So, I have made a white among us person. I was going to do the finger traps, but then something else came up. which was how to make an among us person.

So here it is:

I might give this to my mum, because she loves origami, and I'm sure that she will love this.My sister also made one, and she came up with a great idea, we could play the real among us game if we made a few more. We could also make little cards that say crewmate and imposter.

All for now:)

SLJ: Building A Dam & Te Huarere (Both KS)

 Hello everyone,

Thursday's first SLJ was to build a Dam. A Dam is something that protects the water from coming into city's, houses and to protect animals.  I live in Auckland, and the Auckland Dam has been going for years. The Auckland Dam has been protecting us and the city for a years now. I searched on Google: When was the Auckland Dam Built?

You won't believe the answer, it says 1951! It's so old! Back to the task.

We had to collect stuff from our gardens and turn it into a dam.

Here is my dam that I built:

I made it out of rocks and pebbles. I was going to use sticks, but they had no place to go.

Thursday's second SLJ task was Te Huarere/The Weather.

There was a slideshow that we had to complete. There was audio things that we click on and audio comes out, so by using that, I knew all the pronunciations of the Maori words.

Here is my slideshow:

You can also listen to the audio things if you want to. Friday's one is coming soon!

SLJ: Treasure Hunt

 Hello!

Today's task was a treasure hunt. It was basically a secret code, and I had to figure it out. We used a video to help us. Then, we had to make a Google Drawing and write the secret code of our favourite beach.

Here is my drawing:

 Can you work it out?

Here is a video to help you work it out - I hope it helped!

This code language is called Pigpen Cipher.

Have fun!

Here is the video that I watched before.

I can't put it in the actual blog post, but I managed to put in a link.

That was yesterday's one. Today's one is coming!

Here is the video:

SLJ: What are you doing today?

 Hello Everyone,

Thursday's SLJ is called: What are you doing today? It's basically a slideshow, but it's kind of like a Te Reo Maori Task. We have to set the magnets on the fridge in order so it makes a sentence. I also had to listen to people saying 'What are you doing today?' in Maori.

Here is my slide:

I hope you liked it. Friday's SLJ is coming very soon:P

SLJ: Optical Illusions

 Hello!

Sorry that this post is a few days late. I was so busy doing stuff like taking care of my baby brother. So Wednesday's SLJ task was Optical Illusions. I made mine out of black and white squares. I just put them on top of each other by making them smaller.

Here it is:

Isn't it cool? It's like an endless doorway, or something that is just about to pop out.

I will do Thursday's and Friday's SLJ later on today.

So that's all for now!

SLJ: Insect Art

 Hello Viewers!

Today's Summer Learning Journey Task was: Insect Art. The instructions were that we had to collect stuff from our backyards and then turn them into an insect.

Here is mine:

Mine is made out of pebbles, two twigs, and mints. I used the twigs to make the antennas. I used the mints to make the wings. And, I used the pebbles to make the body. That makes a butterfly.

That's today's one!

SLJ: Fishy False Teeth Comic

 Hello!

This post was supposed to be for yesterday, but I was busy. Yesterday's Summer Learning Journey was called Fishy False Teeth Comic. I had to make a comic after reading a story called Fishy False Teeth. The story was about a man loosing his teeth, but my comic is nothing like that, I don't know why.

Here is my comic:

And that's my comic. Clearly is says that write what you think that the characters are saying, and that's what I thought. I also got a good match when the person was laughing about the socks joke. The picture was showing that the man was laughing! I also got a good match at the last picture, when he says 'NOOOOO,' I think it looks like it.

That's all!

SLJ: Your comment Counts

Hi!

So yesterday, the summer learning journey started. The first activity is Counting Comments. The task is to write a thoughtful, helpful, and positive comment, then we screen shot it, then post it on our blogs. The main task is to explain why it is Helpful, thoughtful, and positive.
Here is my comment:

The reason why I think my comment's Positive is because I had started with a sentence that says 'Great Blog!' and 'Your pinch pot looks great'.

I think my comment is helpful because I have asked a question, and I also have explained it.

I think my comment is thoughtful because I wrote something that her blog post made me remember.

That's the first activity.

Zespri Questions

 Hello Everyone!

I am going to share my Zespri Questions Screencastify. My class entered the competition for Zespri. My class got a box with 11 pedometers. We got into groups of 3, and each person had a turn on a day.

Here is the reflection:

What have you enjoyed the most about participating in the Zespri Young and healthy Virtual Adventure? What I enjoyed the most was when it was my turn to wear the pedometers. I also liked it when the people in my group were letting me have a turn.

Have you done anything new as a result of taking part e.g tried some new fruit or veges or tried a new activity? Yes, I have tried Taekwondo and Hungerball.

Have you encouraged your family to join you on the Zespri Young and Healthy Virtual Adventure, or challenged them to perhaps, see who can do the most activity in a day or eat the greatest number of different veges for dinner? (or any other challenge you can think of!) No.

Have you learned anything new as a result of taking part in the Zespri Young and Healthy Virtual Adventure? Yes, what I have learnt is to stay fit and healthy because when the pedometer counts your steps, you can actually see how fit you are.

Here is the video of me saying it.

Hope you liked my post!

A Fun Friday

 Hola!

Today was a really cool day. We had a lunchtime disco, and we received our Secret Santa gifts. I had a great time at the disco, and I liked my Secret Santa. Anyway, my disco was great! We also had a shared lunch!

Also, another exiting part of today was that we were in mufti! In our shared lunch, Sharmake brought popcorn, Faisa brought muffins, Pranav brought chocolates, and Keti brought 2 packs of sushi. Mrs Odean had also brought some Peaches. There was also a big plate of strawberry's. I'm not sure who had brought the strawberry's. For my Secret Santa,I got a necklace that says love. I don't know who gave it to me, but I think it's the person who brought the strawberry's.

For my Secret Santa, I got her a Jenga.

Here is a picture of my class with their gifts:

That's all for now!

Summer Learning Journey: Art Coloring Book

 Buenos Dias!

I'm going to tell you about our first Summer Learning Journey activity!

Yesterday, Mrs Odean set up my class for the Summer Learning Journey. I haven't done The Summer Learning Journey last year, so this is my first time! One of the activities was the Art Coloring Book.

If you don't know what The Summer Learning Journey is, it's a blogging challenge that you do in the summer holidays, and you can also get prizes! The one I'm doing is a Teaser, so, it's not the real one. We're doing the real one in Week 10!

We had to sign up for it, by a google form. We had to choose our school, write our names, and put the link in of our blogs. This weeks teaser challenge is The Art Coloring Book. I have colored a few, but I like the abstract one the most. I also like my flower one, but I like the abstract one the most. It's not really abstract, it's kind of.

The Art Coloring Book is so cool! You can actually color famous artworks, and also maybe even print them! There are 8 colors that are used in the main coloring, and 8 colors to add some of your creativity! We had to watch a video on how to use the Art Coloring Book, and when I was watching it, I already knew that I was going to have fun.

Once the video was done, I clicked on the link and started to choose a picture. I chose the abstract looking one, but, just to remind you, it wasn't really abstract. I'm just calling it that because there is no other way to explain it.

Here is my coloring:

Isn't it kind of abstract? I used most of the other colors, but the real image looked nothing like mine. It's because I didn't really want to match it, I wanted to make something of my own creativity.

Stay tuned for more Summer Learning Journey activities!

My Reflection about Tabloid

Hello!

I'm going to show you a reflection. This reflection is about Tabloid. Tabloid is a rotation game that classes get a turn to lead other classes. On Wednesday, it was my classes turn to lead the groups.

Here is my reflection:

How did it go?

It went pretty good. People were listening to instructions and playing by the rules. People were also letting others have a turn.

Did something go wrong?

Yes. Bahja was taking two turns, and Mehdi was bouncing the ball when I was speaking. So, most people couldn't hear the rules, so Daphnee, who was also in my group, had to take the ball away from Mehdi and gave it to the first person in the line,

Thanks for having a look!

My Morning In Room 1

 Buenos Dias!

Time for another blog post!!

So, I am going to be sharing about my morning in room 1. The main reason why is because today is Thank You Morning tea. So, all of my class split up into all the other classes, even room 7! So, first, my teacher, Mrs Odean, said the we had to use Tinkercad. If you haven't used Tinkercad before, check out my last blog post.

So then we went to our classes that Mrs, Odeean set us in. The first thing we did was Tinkercad. I made my own hangout room. Here is a picture of it:

So after a while of doing Tinkercad, Miss Nodder, the teacher of Room 1, said that we could help the juniors with publishing their writing. I helped Sharn, and I also helped Lorenzo. Their both in Room 1. Then, it was morning tea. The bell didn't ring at 10:55, when it's the usual time for morning tea.

I went to my class and got my morning tea. We did our usual morning tea, but after morning tea, I got confused. I thought that we went to my class, room 6. But Keti, who was in Room 2, said that we needed to go back to the classes because Mrs Odean was still in the hall. I didn't know what to do, so I just went back to Room 1.

After a while, Faisa came in and said that we could go back to our own classes, which was a relief!
And that was my morning in Room 1.

Thanks for having a look!
