SLJ: Summer Haiku

 Hello,

Friday's SLJ was writing a Summer Haiku. On the SLJ blog, it gave us a link on how to write a Haiku poem.

Here is the video:

That's how you write one. Here is mine:

As you can see, my first line has 5 syllables, and my second one has 7, and my last one has 5. You can count to make sure!

Saturday's one is coming!

  1. Hey Mahrosh,

I’m Daniel from the SLJ Blog commenting team. I’m looking forward to seeing all your amazing blog posts and I hope you’re enjoying your summer too.

This is a great summer Haiku, watch the syllable count though, I think you went one over in the second line but very close so well done. You could try to swap out the word “happy” with a one syllable word that means the same thing, can you think of one?

The picture fits your haiku perfectly, with the bright summer sun shining through the trees.

    Nice work Mahrosh,
See you later in the comments.

    Daniel

    1. Hi Daniel,
Thanks for commenting on my blog post! I don't really think that there is a word with one syllable and means the same thing as happy.

    2. Hey Mahrosh,

Maybe you need to try and use an online Thesaurus (or book form if you have one) and search for other words that mean happy. I know of at least one and I reckon you can find more.

    3. Hi Daniel,
Thanks for replying, A thesaurus is a good idea. I will try and find one.
